A beam splice connection is centered on the beam centerline with a maximum half-inch incision. A three-eighths-inch-thick plate is fastened typically with twelve quarter-inch-diameter by three-inch self-drilling screws. A quarter-inch-thick by nine-inch by one-foot-seven-inch steel plate bridges the connection across the structural steel beams sized per plan. Fasteners are spaced at three inches on center with one-and-a-half-inch typical edge distances.
