A structural steel beam aligns below a vertical panel joint between two precast concrete panels. A one-half-inch by one-foot-eight-inch plate with a length equal to the beam depth plus four inches bridges the joint. Nine three-quarter-inch diameter welded stud anchors spaced at seven inches gauge secure the plate to each side of the panel. The beam centerline aligns with the panel joint assembly.
