A wide flange beam connects to a wide flange girder of equal depth using complete joint penetration welds at the top and bottom flanges. Vertical shear tabs are bolted to the webs of both the beam and the girder with multiple bolts. The deck is split and the concrete fill is thickened as required to accommodate the framing geometry.
