Intermediate and edge expansion joints for exterior concrete slabs on grade. The intermediate joint features a half-inch wide gap filled with premolded joint filler between two typical concrete slabs, with thickened slab edges tapering to a two-inch drop over compacted subgrade. The edge joint details the slab terminating at a building wall, footing, or curb with a half-inch expansion joint and premolded joint filler. Dimensions indicate a six-inch and nine-inch taper zone at the joint interface. Locations are to be coordinated per the structural and architectural plans.
