An HSS beam frames into an HSS column with a maximum one-half inch gap. Connection angles measuring 3x3x5/16 are welded near side and far side to support the beam, with the bottom angle length matched to the HSS beam width. Three-sixteenth-inch fillet welds secure the angles to the column and beam web as indicated. An opposing HSS beam is mirrored on the opposite side of the column where required by plan.
