Continuity plates match the beam flange thickness and are welded inside the column profile. A sloping beam frames into the column using a type C2 connection with a one-inch clearance, accompanied by five-eighths-inch stiffener plates on each side of the web. Complete joint penetration welds are used typically throughout the assembly. Level 36 is established at elevation 591'-0" with top of steel per plan.
