A new concrete pile cap supports a steel column above while bearing on augercast piles. A bond breaker separates the new foundation from the existing concrete shear wall and foundation wall. Existing timber piles occur below the lower pile cap level. Any existing precast piles to be abandoned are cut a minimum of 12 inches below the bottom of the pile cap.
