A cantilevered steel floor beam connects to a supporting steel beam using a half-inch thick shear tab secured by three seven-eighths inch diameter bolts on each side. A typical weld access hole is provided at the beam web, and complete joint penetration welds secure the member. A concrete over metal floor deck bears on the steel assembly. A separate detail shows a steel beam bearing on a hollow structural section column with a three-quarter inch bearing plate and four seven-eighths inch diameter bolts at the gage.
