An HSS14x10x5/8 outrigger member frames into a vertical connector interface with a 3/8-inch cap plate welded at the end using a 3/16-inch partial joint penetration weld. Three-eighths-inch stiffener plates align with the horizontal face of the HSS and are welded on three sides with 1/4-inch fillet welds. The outrigger connects to the support with 1/4-inch and 5/16-inch fillet welds typically.
