A buckling-restrained brace connects to a structural steel column and beam frame via a slotted gusset plate. Typical stiffener plates are provided near side and far side as required by the manufacturer, along with complete joint penetration welds at the beam flanges. The gusset plate and attachment are designed per the brace manufacturer specifications. A work point is established at the intersection of the column and beam centerlines.
