A steel beam frames below an existing concrete pan joist structure using a typical C23 connection secured with two 7/8-inch diameter A325 bolts. A stiffener plate is provided on one side only typical at the connection. New shaft openings beyond must be coordinated with existing framing, architectural, and mechanical plans.
