A structural connection features a composite steel beam supporting a concrete slab over a metal deck running parallel to the beam. Headed shear studs are welded through the metal deck to the top flange of the steel beam to provide composite action. Slab reinforcement is placed throughout the concrete deck as specified per plan, unless noted otherwise. The metal deck features a minimum average rib width of six inches with specific dimensional clearances shown.
