A truss-type masonry veneer lintel support system configured with L5x3½x1/4 angles and 1/4"x1½" steel bars. The assembly spans between the faces of masonry jambs with an 8-inch minimum bearing length at each end, requiring a thin bed of mortar for angle bearing typical. Internal corner conditions incorporate a 1/4"x4"x0'-8" plate with the horizontal leg of the angle cut at the bottom chord. Additional components include diagonal web members welded with 3/16-inch fillet welds typical at each end. A note specifies to shore the lintel until the mortar has cured.
