Two 2x12 members fastened with two rows of sixteen-penny nails at six inches on center form the core backing assembly, flanked by two-by-six studs at each end fastened with staggered sixteen-penny nails at six inches on center. Two A35 clips and two LTP4 clips secure the post to the top plate at the upper connection. Two A35 clips and two LTP4 clips secure the post to the sill plate at the lower connection.
