A hollow structural section column bears on a 9-inch by 5-inch by 1/2-inch embed plate secured to a concrete wall. The embed plate is anchored by two 3/4-inch diameter welded studs with full penetration welds. The column base is welded to the embed plate with a 3/16-inch fillet weld.
