A structural steel beam frames into a column web or flange via a three-eighths inch thick shear plate welded to the beam web with typical quarter-inch fillet welds. The connection uses a vertical row of bolts securing the beam web plate to the supporting column. Dimensional callouts indicate three-quarter inch maximum clearances, one and three-quarter inch edge distances, and standard bolt spacings including three-inch and one and one-half inch increments. A reference callout directs to sheet S6.01 for additional designated criteria.
