Vertical transition and dowel connection between a lower reinforced concrete column and an upper column passing through a floor slab. Dowel bars match the bar size of the lower column and hook into the supporting beam where column extension is unavailable. Vertical column bars extend past the slab interface with specified hook orientations coordinated with beam rebar, post-tension tendons, and slab edges. Additional column sizing and reinforcing are determined per the structural column schedule and framing plans.
