A wide-flange steel beam frames into a masonry wall with a pocket formed to match the beam flange width plus three inches maximum. The beam bears on a one-half-inch by eight-inch by eight-inch embed plate anchored by two three-quarter-inch diameter by six-inch heavy stud anchors. Stiffener plates are welded to each side of the beam web per structural notes. The masonry wall features a continuous bond beam with reinforcing and solid grout cells directly below the beam bearing locations.
