A hollow structural section canopy member frames into a concrete wall using an embedded steel plate assembly. The connection utilizes a one-half-inch by nine-inch by one-foot-zero-inch plate anchored by four three-quarter-inch diameter by eight-inch long stud bolts spaced at six-inch gauge. Fillet welds secure the hollow structural section to the embedded plate. A one-and-a-half-inch recess is provided at the connection point, with wire mesh tack-welded and filled with non-shrink grout. All welded edges are ground smooth and prepared for prime and paint.
