An open web steel joist connects to a vertical concrete wall using embedded steel plates and welded structural angles. A top chord extension is stabilized with an angle and welded connections, while a bottom chord seat bears on a lower embed plate with fillet welds. A bolted diagonal bridging or bracing member ties into a stiffened seat angle welded to the vertical embed plate. Fillet welds of various sizes secure the shelf angles and gusset plates to the continuous wall embed plate.
