A steel joist bears onto a structural steel beam supporting a profiled steel deck above. A one-eighth-inch continuous bent plate is placed between the joist and the supporting steel member. A one-eighth-inch fillet weld with a three-twelve spacing pattern is applied typically to secure the components.
