An interior railing stanchion connects to a C12 channel stringer matching the stair framing at the edge of a concrete slab on metal deck. The slab edge is formed with a three-eighths-inch bent plate welded to the steel beam below with three-sixteenths-inch fillet welds. A half-inch diameter by two-foot-six-inch deformed bar anchor at twelve inches on center secures the edge assembly. The structural beam and deck orientation and reinforcement follow the framing plans, limited to slab overhangs of one foot or less per structural notes.
