A three-quarter-inch thick steel cap plate sits atop the steel column and is flanked by steel beams sized per plan. Additional plates measuring one and one-quarter inches by five inches by three feet long and two inches by three inches by three feet long are detailed symmetrically. Steel deck bears across the assembly with typical shear connections provided by the fabricator. Welds are specified as one-quarter-inch fillets.
