A structural steel column is wrapped with one-inch thick polyfoam on all sides, with the top half-inch removed after twenty-eight-day strength is achieved and filled with sealant per architectural drawings. Two number three diagonal reinforcing bars four feet zero inches long are centered on each corner of the column. A typical two-inch clearance is maintained around the assembly.
