A discontinuous concrete slab T-joint is reinforced with a number four reinforcing bar placed with one-inch clearance from the top of the slab. The vertical reinforcement extends one foot six inches on either side of the intersecting slab joint. The assembly provides structural continuity and crack control at slab termination points.
