Reinforced concrete wall openings require diagonal trim bars and standard hooks to control cracking and distribute stress around penetrations. Two number five diagonal trim bars are placed at each corner of the opening with a two foot six inch typical extension and a two inch minimum clearance. Standard hooks or hook bars as required are provided where lap splices are not possible. Additional two number five trim bars match the wall bars unless otherwise noted, complemented by dowels and construction joints as specified.
