A concrete slab over a metal floor deck bears adjacent to a steel column flange with a slab edge distance of twelve inches or less. A deck support angle sized L4x4x1x4 matches the column width and has its horizontal leg clipped as required to clear the slab edge. A three-sixteenths inch fillet weld secures the angle assembly. A steel beam connects to the steel column web via a bolted shear tab connection. Additional slab conditions greater than twelve inches reference a separate detail.
