A structural steel column bears on a transfer beam through a three-quarter-inch steel base plate secured with four seven-eighth-inch diameter A325 bolts. Fifty KSI web stiffener plates are welded to each side of the beam web, sized to the column flange thickness plus one-eighth inch, with typical complete joint penetration welds. The steel beam passes beneath a concrete slab over a metal floor deck, maintaining a minimum one-and-a-half-inch clearance from the column face. Fillet welds connect the structural components with typical sizing indicated.
