An access floor tile bears on a continuous 3x3x1/4-inch structural steel angle that runs along all sides. A quarter-inch filler plate and quarter-inch clearance are provided at the vertical edge. The steel angle is secured with one-half-inch-diameter headed anchor studs spaced at 18 inches on center, maintaining a 5-inch minimum embedment into the concrete slab. Fillet welds of 1/8-inch size connect the angle assembly.
