A buckling-restrained braced frame connection joins a frame beam and frame column with a gusset plate. A doubler plate and continuity plates are provided at the column as required by the manufacturer, with continuity plate welds designated as demand critical. An erection plate facilitates field assembly, while one-half-inch minimum stiffener plates are located on both sides to align with the edge of the gusset plate. Free edge stiffeners are added where required, and the gusset plate and brace connections are designed per the buckling-restrained brace manufacturer specifications using standard fillet welds.
