Steel roof joists and a girder bear on a steel column with a tie plate and a stabilizer plate. A five-inch-deep steel joist bearing end connects with two half-inch-diameter A325 erection bolts, while a seven-and-a-half-inch-deep girder bearing end connects with two three-quarter-inch-diameter A325 erection bolts. A tie plate measuring three-eighths by five inches by one foot connects across the members with quarter-inch fillet welds, and the bottom chords are left unwelded to the stabilizer plate unless otherwise noted. A stabilizer plate measuring six by three-eighths by six inches with a thirteen-sixteenths-inch diameter hole is provided typically at all joists and girders.
