This assembly features a one-quarter inch bent plate connection attached to cold-formed steel framing, which is provided by others and designed to accommodate one inch of vertical movement. The steel beam supports the metal deck, which is secured with one-half inch diameter puddle welds spaced at twelve inches on center. The connection between the bent plate and the steel beam is reinforced with three-sixteenths inch fillet welds at two inches on center for a twelve-inch length. Metal deck specifications are determined by the architect.
