An aluminum channel shape beam bottom flange connects to a six-by-six aluminum rectangular tube via a three-eighths-inch aluminum plate and an aluminum angle measuring four by four by three-eighths inches. S508 bolts secure the vertical leg through the plate and beam web with a typical one-and-a-half-inch edge distance. A quarter-inch fillet weld secures the aluminum angle to the rectangular tube on three sides.
