The stud wall is secured to a pressure-preservative-treated bottom plate, which is anchored to the concrete footing using 5/8-inch diameter anchor bolts spaced at 4 feet on center with a 7-inch embedment. The assembly includes a plate washer, cut washer, and nut at the base plate connection. The footing is reinforced with two number 4 continuous bars at the top and number 4 dowels spaced at 18 inches on center with standard hooks. A 3-inch clear cover is maintained for the reinforcement. The stem wall may be formed at the contractor's option.
