A buckling-restrained brace connects to a structural steel beam via a gusset plate sized per the manufacturer. The existing gusset plate is removed and replaced to accommodate the buckling-restrained brace connection, which is designed by the manufacturer. Typical stiffeners and a bottom flange kicker are provided per the structural plan at the work point. The contractor coordinates with the manufacturer to determine locations requiring a one-sided installation.
