A supported steel beam frames into the web of a supporting steel beam using a single-plate shear tab connection. The shear tab is welded to the supporting beam web with a fillet weld sized per the connection schedule, and the supported beam web attaches to the tab with multiple rows of high-strength bolts. Edge distances and bolt spacings conform to American Institute of Steel Construction specifications. The number and size of bolts in the first and second rows are sized per the structural schedule unless otherwise noted on the plan.
