A concrete slab on metal deck step assembly occurs where the step depth is four inches or more. A continuous L4x3x3/8 angle supports the slab edge at the beam alignment. Dowels matching the slab reinforcement extend across the joint with a one-foot embedment on each side. The upper and lower slab levels maintain a four-inch minimum dimension from the step change to the support face.
