An embedded structural steel column is cast within a concrete boundary element and tied to a reinforced concrete wall collector. A gusset plate projects from the column web into the wall, anchored with reinforcing dowels connected via Lenton C3J weldable half couplers. The wall horizontal reinforcement matches the size and spacing of the dowels. Typical five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds secure the embedded steel assembly. Additional column reinforcement details are referenced for the boundary element.
