An angle framing member specified as L3x3x1/4 is installed framing a small opening in the metal deck adjacent to a structural column and beam. The horizontal legs of the framing angles are coped with a maximum one-half inch clearance from the column flange. The opening is limited to one foot two inches maximum width, and sheet metal screws are omitted at the beam per plan.
