An HSS column per plan connects to a beam framing with web stiffener plates matching the thickness of the column wall with a three-eighths inch minimum, provided on each side typically. The stiffener plates match the column width and are welded with full-depth complete joint penetration welds on three sides typically. The column flange is welded to the beam flange with a complete joint penetration weld.
