A structural steel connection details a chord and diagonal brace framing into the web of a structural column. The chord member connects via a shear plate welded to the column web with a three-sided one-quarter-inch fillet weld, featuring three-eighths-inch stiffener plates at the top and bottom of the shear tab. A gusset plate of thickness tg connects the diagonal double-angle brace to the column and shear tab assembly, welded with one-quarter-inch fillet welds spaced at three inches on center. Standard clearances and edge distances are maintained with minimum three-quarter-inch gaps around intersecting members.
