A hollow structural section tie-off anchor rated for five thousand pounds extends eighteen inches maximum above the metal roof deck. The hollow structural section member is welded to the supporting steel beam with a five-sixteenth-inch fillet weld and a one-quarter-inch fillet weld at the top cap. Full-depth web stiffeners are provided typically within the steel beam, which is braced by L3x3x5/16 angle braces welded with one-quarter-inch fillet welds. A note permits the substitution of a purchased roof anchor system attached as required for the design force shown.
