An isometric welder performance test assembly for special moment frames features one-half-inch thick plates configured in a tee joint. The vertical plate measures six inches by six inches with a one-inch extension dimension, and is connected to a horizontal base plate measuring five inches by six inches. The plates are secured with tack welds, and a weld access hole is provided per American Institute of Steel Construction guidelines. General notes require each welder to complete one test specimen, with the testing laboratory preparing three side bend samples per specimen.
