An HSS guiderail support column bears against a concrete slab on metal deck and a supporting steel beam. The assembly secures via a 1/2-inch by 10-inch by 2-foot base plate anchored with four 3/4-inch diameter by 3-inch heavy-duty sleeve anchors, and a 1/2-inch by 1-foot bent plate with three 5/8-inch diameter by 30-inch deformed bar anchors at 5 inches on center. The column connects to the steel beam web using two L6x4x5/16 angles cut 5 inches long, secured with a 3/4-inch through-bolt in a 2-inch vertical slotted hole with double nuts. Fillet welds of 1/4-inch and 3/16-inch sizes join the structural steel components as indicated.
