A structural steel column bears on a steel base plate resting on one and one-half inches of non-shrink grout atop a reinforced concrete pier. The concrete pier features three sets of ties at two inches on center around the anchor bolts. The assembly sits on a concrete footing with three inches minimum concrete cover over the reinforcement. A concrete pour back surrounds the base of the column where it intersects the concrete slab-on-grade.
