A continuous sixteen-gauge bent edge plate forms the perimeter edge of a steel deck running perpendicular to a structural steel edge beam. The steel deck bears across the top flange of the edge beam, sized per plan. The edge plate extends downward to retain the edge of the deck with a maximum overhang dimension of two feet.
