A structural steel column and buckling-restrained brace frame connect to a base plate bearing on non-shrink grout over a concrete footing. Anchor rods extend through the base plate with double heavy hex nuts and plate washers per schedule, featuring a minimum four-inch projection and threaded top eight inches. A shear key is cast into the footing below the base plate, with footing reinforcement consisting of number five bars spaced equally between keys. Additional double heavy hex nuts and plate washers are provided near the bottom of the anchor rods six inches above the bottom of the footing.
