An open web steel joist with a flush connection by the manufacturer attaches to a supporting steel beam via a steel beam web plate provided by the joist supplier. Bolt number and size require coordination with the joist manufacturer. A three-eighths-inch stiffener plate is added, with location and connection coordinated with the joist supplier. A one-quarter-inch full depth web stiffener is welded to the beam web. Metal roof deck bears across the top chord of the joist.
