This structural steel detail shows a braced frame gusset plate connection with a maximum one-inch offset from the beam centerline. The incoming double-angle brace connects to the gusset plate using two 7/8-inch diameter A325 bolts. Vertical 1/2-inch stiffener plates are welded to the top and bottom flanges of the wide-flange beam with 1/4-inch fillet welds and partial joint penetration welds at the web. A wide-flange beam per plan connects to the assembly with a typical connection detail. The incoming brace is offset from the work point by up to one inch.
