A steel beam frames into a hollow structural section column with stiffener plates welded to each side at twelve inches on center, along with two additional bars at six inches on center at the support and wall interface above. A continuous one-half-inch thick plate runs along the support, and three-quarter-inch diameter shear studs measuring four inches long are spaced at twelve inches on center into the concrete slab. Additional number four reinforcing bars are added at six inches on center on each side of the W24 beam, tied into the metal deck assembly.
